NPDS 2nd AGM
Today, we had our Ngee Ann Polytechnic DanceSports 2nd Annual General Meeting. In this meeting, we recognised the achievements of our club, released the financial report of the year 2004/2005 and officially declared the new Executive Committee.
Jin Jin, the NPDS president of 2004/2005, congratulated the couples who took part in the recent 6th SGDF Dancesports Chanpionships on 31st July 2005. The couples mentioned were Brennan & Vanessa, Choon Lim & Caryn and Daryl & Cheryl for their achievements in the Championships.
Michael, the NPDS Treasurer of 2004/2005, elaborated on the Financial Report of the year 2004/2005. The payment collected from the Seniors were spent on our annual SGDF membership fee, the CCA Fiesta 2005, the Shawn & Gladys Dance Studio's instructor fees and the club bonding events that were organised.
The highlight of this AGM was the election of the new Executive Commitee for the year 2005/2006. The nominees were proposed by a proposer and seconder by the members of our club. The nominees are as follows:
President: Jin Jin and Vanessa
Vice-President: Vanessa and Daryl
Secretary: Natalie
Publicity Manager: Judith
Treasurer: Daryl
Events Coordinator: Caryn
The club members were allowed to vote for the above members. Voting was done systhematically by announcing the commencement of the above positions - after which, the members write the name of the desired nominee on a small piece of paper. This piece of paper is then collected and counted to determine the winning nominee of the paticular position. For positions with only one nominee, there will be a walkover.
With the completion of the election, we're proud to announce the new comimittee:
President: Jin Jin
Vice-President: Vanessa
Secretary: Natalie
Publicity Manager: Judith
Treasurer: Daryl
Events Coordinator: Caryn
With the new executive in committee in place, we will very much Look Forward to the Oncoming Year Ahead for the NPDS!
For now, it's back to practice and more dance lessons from Melvin... :)
